not really. i had both a 57 chevy and a 67 lemans as daily drivers. I have actually had more trouble with newer cars.
very expensive . As an example , just a carburetor for a early Mustang will cost around $400.00 .
Well, the old carburetors and ignition systems were a pain in the neck compared to modern fuel injected cars, but rear wheel drive cars are easier to maintain in my opinion in general. You’d have to make sure all the parts are still available. But what I don’t like is that the old 1970s cars weren’t as safe as the same weight modern car. They either had only lap belts or no seat belts at all and they, of course didn’t have air bags or Anti-Lock Braking systems. So I wouldn’t recommend an old muscle car for a daily driver type car. Finally the gas mileage was about 12 miles per gallon or less on those old muscle cars.
If its in decent running condition, it shouldnt be too expensive at all.
My dad has z28 camaro in the garage that he uses in the warmer months. The only serious thing it ever needed was a battery, fuel filter..
And most parts (depending on rarity and how original he wants to keep it) can be found at a junk/pull yard, even ebay.
